Unhappy unable to connect

Ok guys,

I installed (non-root) firewall Guarddog. Then when I tried it from KDE menu,"it" showed up. With "it" I mean just firewall settings, where i couldn't make any change. So rebooted as Root user in KDE and only i did i pressed button "Apply".Again i rebooted as non-root user to see how's it work. But what happened when I tried web browser, nothing.

It says something like "can't ressolve host name".

There is one more thing i did.I don't think i did anything bad to it.
I just pulled out internet cabel (LAN) don't remember why.And rebooted many times.

So now I'm on XPs on another box to get internet and ask you for help.

Sorry for my english.

Thanks for helpfull reply.

I'd try uninstalling the firewall. :s If it's causing so many problems.

If you're concerned about security, install Mandrake with the "Paranoid" security level, that should be more than enough.
