i increased the screen resolution on my monitor and now the display is completely warped! why did this happen??
cant use the tools on the desktop, and i need to set display back to a lower resolution.
how do i reconfigure the video display from the rescue option on the install disc?

one option you have (if your xorg/XF86.conf is correctly configured), is to switch resoltuion on-the-fly to a smaller one, so you can reconfigure it normaly. To do this, when under X, hit ctrl - (or + to increase) to swap to a smaller resolution.

If you cannot get to X, even warped, then youll have to boot up your machine to a lower runlevel in order to fix it in the CLi mode. You can get there from X also, if the machine boots up at all. To do this, just hit ctrl+alt+F2 and log in as root. Then manually reconfigure your /etc/X11/xorg.xonf (or XF86 conf if you still use that)

sorry bout that, I typoed the command sequence.. Its ctrl+alt++ and trl+alt+-
But it works only if you have several different resolutions specified for the displaymode. (most configurators do this)
