Taskbar dissapears suddenly
 

I don't know why nearly all of the times I use linux, afetr like 2 hours I use it, the taskbar on the sesktop dissapears. Just suddenly. I don't know what to do, because when it dissapears I have to reboot the comp.
Please help!!

Something is killing it or causing it to hang.

Usually any installed applets are to blame.

Turn them ALL off until you rectify the problem.

Note signal 11's can also be to blame, which are hardware related problems.

Signal 11's are what appear to be application errors which are actually caused by hardware problems, usually memory errors.

Which version of Mandrake are you running, on what display, etc.

You may also want to choose a different video adapter configuration, say vesa FB. This will kill performance, but if this fixes the disappearing taskbar you'll know that the issue is with the video driver an not anything else.
