The tap-to-click function no longer works on my synaptics touchpad. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems like I remember seeing a bug report, but I havent been able to find it.
* Problem Tap-click does not work on Synaptics touchpad.
o Solution Install Synaptics driver from contrib. Follow the instructions in the INSTALL file for configuring the XF86Config-4 file. You may also need to load module evdev in your /etc/modprobe.preload file.
This is for those of you with brand new laptops that have horizontal scroll that is taking over your vertical scroll, models like the HP zt3000. Instead of putting
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Try
Option "Buttons" "7"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
But then you'll want to put in your Xmodmap file
pointer = 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
OR run
xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 4 5 6 7"
I don't know why it doesn't just F-ing assume that it's 1234567, but it doesn't.
