I am using mdk 10.1. has anyone gotten any repositories (from usa) to work in synaptic?
if so, do you mind posting you /etc/apt/sources.list file?

thanks!

Use urpmi if using Mandriva. There are quite a lot of sources listed at easyurpmi

using mandrake 10.1. I have been to easy rpm and gotten a bunch of repositories and tried to plug them directly into the sources.list without success. Also tried going directly through the repositories and adding them without success. Failing upon reload of the repositories.

I just really like the synaptic. Used it in kubuntu. Any more ideas?

Thanks!

You need to use Mandrakes own tools for managing packages. Apt and Synaptic are not supported by Mandrake (officially anyway) because they have their own tools (urpmi and rpmdrake) that do a similar job. You need to configure urpmi sources for your Mandrake release. Go to zebulon.org.uk to find out more about urpmi and easyurpmi for a guide on how to set it up on your system.
