starting wireless after boot

Mandrake 10.1 on Sony Vaio PCG-SRX77; built-in wireless (uses PCMCIA, tho)

I have set eth2 (wireless) not to start at boot (to avoid the time issues during boot when there is no wireless).

The tray network icon (GNOME) gives an option to start eth0 but not eth2. How can I start wireless (eth2) after I've booted?

I did something similar, and thus far the only way I'm doing that is via mcc. Requires root password.
