Spyware?
I have picked up some sort of spyware in the form of a pop-up. It only affects Moz 1.7.5, not Opera or FF, and only at one particular web site. It's the "Hit the bug, IPOD and reduce student loans" one. Then it turns into a warning from Moz to download a spyware program for windows. I says my system is infected with a trojan and some other stuff. Well, my windows system is on a separate drive and linux is the system affected.
How can I find this and stop it? I have Moz set up to block pop-ups but this one gets through. |
It's not spyware that intalled in Mozilla, but probably a pop under. Some sites do that to try and circumvent pop-up blocking. Try clearing your cookies and make sure pop up blocking is enabled.

Thanks for the reply, I did those things you suggested but still can shake it.

I changed my cookie setting to "allow for originating website only" and I got rid of it. I've used Opera so long I'm unfamilar with the fine-tuning of Moz.

Kool, I thought it was something to do with the cookies. Anyway I'm glad you sorted it out :)
