Yet another newbie with another problem with Alcatel Speedtouch and connecting to the Internet. <blush>

First the setup: A PIII, dual boot (XP and Mandrake 9.1). Other than the issue of connecting to the Internet, everything seems to be working well.

The issue is the Alcatel SpeedTouch USB modem. The ISP is Sympatico.ca

Mandrake found the Alcatel SpeedTouch USB Modem without a problem. The setup appears to be correct.

The issue seems to have something to do with the Ethernet. It keeps saying something about the port being busy.

I've been reviewing everything I can about the Alcatel and understand there are problems, but nothing exactly looks like mine.

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

Do you see ppp0 in the list ?
