Source Code installation for 9.2

Why is 9.2 such a bitch when it comes to installing the source code rpm's?

I have tried all sorts of things urpmi fails, i have used the easyurpmi website to get some neat lins of code that should do stuff but dont work

I have downloaded kernel-source-2.4.22-10mdk.i586.rpm 5 times its md5 sum is correct everytime, from 5 different mirrors

uname -r reports this is the correct kernal ,

(I even got kernel2.4-marcelo-2.4.22-1mdk.src.rpm

that wont install either)

Firstly it complains that the D3A signature is BAD , i typed

rpm - i --nosignature ....

then it compains the MD5 is bad so i put that in and then is complains that the md5 digest is bad so i put that in ...

rpm -i --nosignature --nomd5 --nodigest kernel-source-2.4.2.2-10mdk.src.rpm

after this it goes off and grinds for awhile and then reports Bad Magic cannot install this rpm

WTF?

I am logged on as root

All I want is the source code for linux to install itself so i can get on with installing my SMC2635w wireless network card.

been driving me mad

anyone please help...???

Drakepackage adder thing requests CD1 I put cd1 in and it spits it out and asks for CD1 again, obviously source is not on CD1.

thanks people

I tried a different approach to trick the drake rpm installer...

I burned the kernel-source rpm to a cdrw.

the first time i tried it it said the label was wrong and spat it back out asking for cd1 , i burned it again this time with the same label as cd1 and it accepted it fine and downloaded the source module.

unbelieveable.
