some question asked by a newbie compiling KDE3.2
As the title says, It's really my first time to compile KDE3.2 under mandrake9.2. I do not install any desktop package(KDE3.1.3, Gnome etc.) in mdk9.2, and just get KDE3.2 source code from the net to compile for myself. Well, I successfuly compile and install arts, kdelib, and kdebase and enter the great KDE3.2 environment. When entering, I can hear the 'welcome' sound, however, I cannot play .mp3 file via xmms(maybe neither any other sound format ). Does it result from my compiling arts without some associated library files first installed? In addition, I find the non-kde apps have older Gnome style in appearance( not that style of Gnome2.0 or later). I think maybe it's a problem related with the glib and Gtk packages. May someone help me to solve these problems? Thanks in advance.
