some component missed after using "mandrake update" ???
I used "Mandrake Update" while I logged in my personal account (then entered the super user pass of course), everything ran fine until I rebooted, and noticed that everything is normal, except that,
many component went away, for example, in the Configuration, now there's just "configure the desktop", there's no "configure the computer" anymore, also, I can't see the "Utilities -> Console" and things else ... I wonder if those components related to what i just updated (i just updated security error) ? Now how can i revive those components ? Thanks and really looking for some hints |
Oh, you found the "menu f*@ked" easter egg! Welcome to mandrake! You might be able to use menudrake from the command line, but then again. There is a rebuild command on this board somewhare (sorry, don't have it on hand, do a search). I haven't tried that yet, so don't know if the result is good.
I didn't know what it was either, so I created a new user account. That menu is built from the system menu, so it's good. Do a search of the forum for "rebuld menu mandrake" and you'll get all the current stuff that's going on with menus. |
