software raid/mirror in MDK 9.1?

I have a Windoze 2k server that is dying (yea!!!!)

But I need to migrate the data to my new MDK 9.,1 box.

I have a system all built with dual WD 120Gb drives.

How can I get them to run mirrored? I have loaded "raidtools" but it doesnt seem to want to mirror.

I know it is something simple. But I just dont see it.

Any Ideas? or should I try a different program?

Tia,
chip

hmmm... i've heard from reliable sources that WD hard drives do not use the full eide specs and have dma problems (from the mandrake mail list). as such you run a real risk of file system corruption leading to data loss.

sorry can't actually help with the raidtools problem. if you post more details, what you did, what you tried, what you syspect, what you checked, etc... perhaps someone might have a better idea of how to help.

I have had some successes with WD drives - and some funnies so I switched to Seagate for Linux systems. They may work fine for you so try them.

If you want to do mirroring you must set it up during installation.
You can boot off software RAID 1.
