Skipping sound
 

I have been fighting this sound issue in a few forums for 2 days with no avail. I installed 10.1 Official many times and could never get the sound to work. I had other issues with 10.1 as well so I reinstalled 9.2. The sound repeats itself like a broken record except in XMMS. The 9.2 system sounds won't stop. Realplayer and kaffeine sound like the broken record. I would GREATLY appreciate any help. Thanks.

I got the "drum beat" system sound stopped by turning the volunm down in alsa on the VIM DXS. But Real and windows audio sounds like a broken record and Real freezes up. Pls files work fine. Still need help.
