shutting down x server in 10.1


naturaly i'm attempting to install the nvidia driver.

so how do i kill x?

You also might want to be sure to UNLOAD any memory resident NVIDIA kernel modules before you start..

lsmod

To see which are loaded

and

rmmod MODULENAME

Make sure that they unload and that you DO NOT get a busy error message before trying to install the new drivers.
