Shutdown hangs at ALSA

Occasionally, when shutting down my computer, the shutdown process hangs at 'Shutting down ALSA' The only way to avoid this is to manually shutdown alsa in a console then shutting down the computer. I'm using Mandrake 10 official. Any suggestions?
