Setting up Garnome to be in the GDM menu, mandrake 10 - NEWBIE
Hi
I am trying to get gnome 2.8 into my mandrake 10 install. I have done the make install with garnome and all the files have downloaded and compiled successfully. I use GDM as my default window manager and want to set up garnome within the GDM menu choices.
Firstly, how do I do this? I have tried /etc/X11/dm/Sessions and /etc/X11/wmsessions.d to no avail. So where do I put the config file to get GDM to pick it up?
Secondly, what do I put in this file? Where do I put the Garnome configuration script
(I havent figured out how to get garnome to run at all yet! :P)
Thanks

Why oh WHY did you COMPILE GNOME?!?!
It's already available on your CD's in a Mandrakeified version that works perfectly on your system and makes the menus available, etc.
As root try
urpmi gnome
and things will be automagically installed.
Also see http://www.zebulon.org.uk/
for information on how to expand urpmi so that it will install a slew of other applications automagically for you.
