Setserial


why cant i use the setserial command in mandrake to set where my modem is? here is what i typed and what it spit back at me:

[root@localhost ****]# setserial /dev/ttyS3 port 0xd800 spd_vhi skip_test auto_irq autoconfig


bash: setserial: command not found
[root@localhost ****]#

why is the command not found?

Have you done a search on your machine for 'setserial'?
Are you sure it is installed?
Is it in your path?
If you find it, try it with the absolute path in the command.
You may need to be root with 'su -', which gives you the root environment, instead of just 'su'.
