server won't show files


i'm using mandrake 10 and whenever i goto a folder without a index.html it says page can't be displayed there wasn't a option in the wizard for turning on browsing files so wheres the configuration file and what in it do i have to change?

You can add "Indexes" to the Options directive for the folder/parent folder of the directories you want listings for in httpd.conf.

with this weird advx i haven't been able to find the httpd.conf

do you know where that is?

probably at:

/etc/httpd/conf/httpd2.conf

ok i found it but wheres the line i need to edit so that people can browse the files of the directory?

now for some reson whenever i try to get into a directory it gives me a forbidden and doesn't let me see the list of files how can i change this so it does?
