Sendmail configuration question.Mdk10.1
 

Kmail's sendmail configration is difficult to understand with handbook.
I am using dial up connection and looking for easier explanation.
Also the handbook says depends on distribution,the sendmail can be configured during installation.
If so which distribution is easy for sendmail configuration?

Are you talking about configuring kmail to send mail through sendmail or getting email from sendmail?

Or you asking how to configure sendmail?

Because setting up kmail to send/recieve is pretty easy to setup if you read the settings.

There is a send/recieve section and of course the identies you will be using.

Send e-mail directry from my computer using sendmail.
Not using smtp server,the hand book says some distribution will do this during installation.
Mandrake 10.1 did not do this.

You have to have some sort of email server to send mail no matter what.

Even if you dont want to uset smtp you still need the sendmial binary program to to send mail.
