saving settings??

I use md 9.1...installed a netgear wireless card....ran network setup..everything working beautifully....problem is that when I shutdown the system and then go back to it...my setup is gone..it was not saved. Any answers to this..

When I installed MD9.1 I used the same name/password for admin user and regular user...would this confuse the OS. I can always start over if need to or is there somewhere in the OS to edit users including the root user?

Before we can help, a little more detail would be helpfull. What steps did you take to install the hardware? it may be a simple module problem. The output of dmesg may help, or take a root around in your /proc folder.

As for the passwords and users, open your control centre and you will find utils to edit users.

Logged onto Mandrake Control Center....went to networking area and used the wizard to find the card.
