Samba problems

I have Mandrake 9.0, in a domain with a windows xp machine. I was able to see the xp machine from the Mandrake but now i am unable to see the files on the windows machine, tried mounting the the drive, when i search for server useing the wizard it finds the xp machine and the folder but the folder has a yellow icon beside it. WHen i try and mount it, i get message mount failed. THats with the mandrake from the xp machine i can see the mandrake machine and the folder but i can't see the files in it. I can put files in the shared folder on the mandrake, it seems the file has been place on the mandrake machine but when i check the folder on the mandrake the file is not there, but i can see the file in the shared folder from the xp machine. Any help would be appreciated
