Running scripts

OK, so I previously posted about an issue I was having with mozilla and its offspring.... a member here directed me to a patch which is a launch script that prevents the application from popping up multiple profile dialogs...but I dont know how to run the patch/script. How are scripts run exactly? Do I throw it into a file and sh it or something? Thanks...

Ok, how might that script be modified so that the browser windows that opens (if it's a copy) will open either a url passed in or the homepage?

The script I posted will take an argument of a url that should be opened - if there is no argument then it will follow the default browser startup - which may or may not be to load the homepage.

hmm...for some reason with firefox it seems not to want to load the homepage...interesting...
