RTCW Single Player Crashes & No Sound


Hi

I'm having a problem with RTCW, it crashes when trying to load single player, and there is no sound on either SP or MP. I did a forum search and found something, but being a n00b I couldn't figure out exactly what applied to me.

I'm running Mandrake 10.0 Official with Kernel 2.4.25-8mkd
AMD Athlon 2500+
ABIT NF7-S v2.0 Mobo
256MB RAM
NVIDIA Geforce 2MX 32MB Graphics Card (with the latest drivers)

Any help would be very much appreciated, want to get playing this game

Cool Sound problems with rtcw

If this is the problem:

------- sound initialization -------
/dev/dsp: Input/output error
Could not mmap /dev/dsp
------------------------------------


then try this, as root type :

echo "wolfsp.x86 0 0 direct" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss

echo "wolfsp.x86 0 0 disable" > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/oss



Solved it for me.
