Yes when i install and run mandrake 9.2 for the first time i can run the rpm gui's and the work fine, however if i logoff and back on or reboot when i try to use them they ask me for the admin password and then nothing happens, i know i can use the cli but what happened to my gui>
try running "rpmdrake" from the command line and see what output you get when the gui fails to run. Post the output if you don't understand what it means and maybe we can help.
Missing constant iconv at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.1/rpmdrake.pm line 59
Compilation failed in require at /usr//bin/rpmdrake line 41.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr//bin/rpmdrake line 41.
ok, it seems like the version of rpmdrake you have is broken. Did you do an update of perl or perl related packages and rpmdrake recently? You may have to check if there are any updates for those packages. It's easier to do this if you, set your system to use urpmi. You can get more information at Easy Urpmi if you are not already using it.
