Resolving hosts slooooow
 

I have two computers. 1 Windows XP box. 1 Mandrake 10.1 OE box. They share cable internet thru D-Link DI-604 Ethernet Broadband Router.
Everything was working fine.

But today, on my Linux box it takes forever to Resolve host in a webbrowser; connect to a server in mail client; lookup host in ftp; Once Resovle host is done, and it connects to site it loads site pretty fast, or at least it seems to be as normal as before. it also downlaods at normal speeds from ftp, once connected. so its just that that resolving host part of a connection takes like forever. i have not changed any settings anywhere. I've restarted computer, but no help.

Any ideas and suggestions are much appreaciated.

I've answered this many times, but in great detail recently.

So to save on typing, try using the search function, select just this forum and search on resolve dns etc.
