Resolution Problems

I have a dual boot system. Mandrake 10.0 and WinXP. In Win XP I can get a 1600 x 1200 resolution. However, no matter what changes I make, I can not seem to get Mandrake to give me a resolution above 640 x 480.

Well, technically I sort of can. If I go to like an 800 x 600, I have to move my mouse to the side of the screen and the screen moves for me.

I currently have:

Savage IX 8mb video card
Envision 980e monitor

If you need any other information let me know.

Try doing a search here on "resolution" and/or "xorg.conf" and you will find lots of information that may be helpful. Be sure to keep a backup version of your xorg.conf file if you go to modifying it, so you can restore it if something goes badly wrong.
