Replacing KDE with newer version

I am running MDK 10.1 with KDE 3.2.3 installed by default (via rpm). I am currently building 3.3.2 right now with konstruct. 3.3.2 is installing to my home directory which is fine, but I want to remove KDE 3.2.3 and replace it with 3.3.2.

How can I go about doing this without screwing much up? I still would like to use the login form in Mandrake to choose my desktop (I sometimes use Fluxbox). Where can I find resources on this topic specifically?

Thanks alot in advance!

Will

You probably want to start with looking to see what other RPM packages depend on the old and new KDE packages. I have found KPackage to be useful in that regard.

Thac's web site has a full set of already Mandrakified 3.3.2 RPM's available.

These have been specifically adjusted for Mandrake. I'm running it now and it works perfectly.

All I needed to do was add the http: site as a urpmi source then perform an update to 3.3.2.

Very nice...

Excellant. I couldn't find MDK RPM's so that looks like it may work out great. My build failed because I did not have flex installed, so I will try the RPMs today.

[EDIT]
I was just wondering, how do I know which packages to install first? Does it matter?
[/EDIT]

Thanks alot!!
