Removing Mandrakelinux 10.1

Hello,

I have been using Mandrakelinux 10.1 for a few weeks now, and for several reasons, have decided to return to Windows. [I have my original Windows CD.]

When I installed Mandrake, I'm assuming it set up its own partitions on the Hard Drive because now Windows Setup cannot detect the drive properly to install.

How do I remove Mandrake and the partitions it set up so I can reinstall Windows?

I apologize in advance to those of you who think I am going in the wrong direction... :-)

Thanks for the help!!!

What version of Windows?

XP or 2K should be able to detect and format

9X you will need to boot to a DOS prompt and use fdisk and format commands

In all Windows NT family (NT 4.0, 2K, XP) during the installation you can remove existing partitions and create new ones with a simple partitioning tool. You can just delete all existing partitions and create a new partition, that will use all available disk space. Then after Windows installation you can install Partition Magic software and easy repartition your disk space.

Alternative to Partition Magic:
Use Knoppix live cd, and qtparted.
Free, works, easy.
