removing full directories in Mandrake
I installed some codecs in ./Documents - Directory and now I want to remove them and put them into the directory ./codecs ( /usr/local/lib/codecs.)
In Slackware it works like: rm -rf
How does it work in Mandrake?
Thank you

command line is command line, in Linux. what works in Slack, Deb, Gentoo, etc. at command line level will also work in Mandrake. just be careful of the rm -rf command. make sure you point the correct path or you could have a disasater on your hands. you could also just do the lazy GUI method & right click on any file/folder & select delete, move to trash, copy, paste, etc.

Thanks for your fast reply, otish 1000c
But is it dangerous to delete this directory? in this directory there are only the codecs in it. Or do you mean it generally?
Cheers

you need codecs for various audio/video files to be able play. the default install for the codecs should be /usr/local/lib/codecs &/or /usr/lib/codecs. by deleting a /codecs folder in your /documents directory, you will do your system no harm. but, if you want to be able to play audio/video files you will need the codecs in the proper location, so either copy them there first, or reinstall them after deleting the directory in the /documents folder.

I don't know exactly what codecs you're trying to install, but my mplayer codecs go in /usr/lib/win32/
