Remastering Mandrake 10 Install...?
I know it sounds wierd, but I had an idea, and I'm sure it's do-able, but I don't know how. You see, I have an HP Laptop that has a knows issue with Linux and Firewire. It freezes most Linux installers (It doesn't freeze SuSE... heck the firewire works FINE in that... but I haveother reasons for not running it.) So, what I wanted to do was re-conpile the kernel the install booted so that it had no idea about firewire. That way, I could install, without using the 'noauto' switch, and have it like my wireless, my sound, my usb, and all the other things it fials to detect using 'noauto' (I've had this problem with other mandrake installs, so it's not just 10.)
So, could anyone give me some idea about how to go about doing this?
