Hi,
I have mandrake 10.1 community running with kernel 2.6.8 and 2.6.8-secure of the distribution. After deinstalling the secure-kernel successfully with MCC I wanted to reinstall it. I went to software->media>install and searched for the package, but it wasn't there anymore. this happend with an other program ,too. As Media, Ihave only got the installation cds enabled. What's wrong here and how do I get the secure-kernel again?
Regards
Thomas
Hi
thanks, i tried that, have found the kernel and installed it, but I can't find the nvidia module. It seems, that it is build via dkms, but I don't understand how. Any ideas?
regards
Thomas
no, i don't want to build a kernel. I wanted to install the secure-kernel-sources, but something went wrong (I don't know what, but afterwards I had the secure kernel twice). Now I could log into the secure kernel (both) but the x-server failed, because it couldn't load the nvidia modules. So I deinstalled both secure kernels and the nvidia modules and tried to reinstall one secure kernel and the according nvidia modules, but couldn't find them via drakconf. I searched through the cd's and found the kernel, but not the modules. the kernel is now installed again via rpm, but I can't find the nvidia modules.
regards
It's basically the same kernel with some more secure settings.
I have found now the modules on the cd (looked in the wrong directory) and installed them with rpm, everything is working fine again. The problem that MCC didn't find the packages was a crippled urpmi.cfg. how this happened Ido not know.
Thanks for your helpful replays
