I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 490CDT. I have installed Mandrake 10.0. I have set the video to the correct drive(S3 Virge MX) at 640X480 resolution.
I want to reconfigure it to 800X600. Can someone tell me how to do this? I don't like the look of the desktop as it stands now. Also, I would like to Configure the sound.
Assuming your KDE or Gnome, you can change the resolution in the Mandrake Control Center. You can start the Mandrake control center by going to System->Configuration->Configure your computer. Once you're in the Control Center, just click on Hardware, then Screen Resolution to change your resolution and or color depth.
Maybe. You can run the tool to autodetect your sound card, by going to the hardware icon in the hardware part of the control center. Then find the sound card part in the detected hardware list. Then click the config tool button. If you're lucky it'll detect it and install drivers for it. If you're not, you'll have to try and find drivers yourself for your particular sound card.
