If you want Mandrake as a desktop system you will want all the cd`s, which will be three or four depending on which version. You can get away with two, but in the longrun you will wish you had all of them.

u never know when ur stranded in the midst of installtion because non valialbility of a CD
also 1 improvement i saw in Fedora 2
that during installation after we chosen the packages which we want to install
it tells us it will requiring 1 , 2 ,3 or 4 CDS and if do not have them we may not go for installation
