Question about the taskbar and apps
 

You know when you have multiple apps open, and it groups the apps together down at the taskbar, how is it possible to make the apps appear vertical rather than to the side? I used to have this in Mandrake 8.1 but dont know how to change it in Mandrake 10.1

I don't use KDE anymore (never used GNOME), but have you tried setting up the KDE taskbar to display on the right or left hand side?

Have you tried adding a "Kasbar" too the Panel ?

Right button on Panel, Add- Panel - Kasbar

in gnome right click on the task bar and hit "create new panel" then right click on the new panel hit "preferences" and change the orientation to "right" or "left" depending on your preferences.
