Question about KDE 3.2

Hello,
I have MDK 10.1 installed and KDE 3.2 as my default WM..When I plug in my Kingston drive(usb),
my konqueror will not start nor will it display it on the desktop..It works perfectly in Gnome..
My question is what is responsible for KDE starting devices? Can someone explain what happens when KDE sees a new device inserted?
It is listed in /etc/fstab and Kwickdisk shows it where I can mount and un-mount but No desktop icon, nor will konqueror open to read it..
Thank You
jolphil
PS this is my second install on this hard drive with the very same problem..Did I forget to install some package?

Yes.
Sometimes I have similar problems with CD-ROM. I don't know what it depends on (I often reinstall Linux), but I found a solution. I don't know if it will be usefull for you or not.
The only thing I do is I manually create link to device on my desktop by clicking right mouse button on desktop and go New->Device->... .
May be it will be good if you install Linux with flash drive plugged on.

Sorry for my English, it is not as good, as i want it to be.

Thank you RomanG...
Yes I have tried that but it did not work..Konqueror still stalled and would not open..
I did however get it fixed..For all who have a similar problem ,go to the MDK
updates and download all updates including the Bug fixes...That did it for me..
Apparently it was a KDE bug...
BTW Your english was fine, thank you again for your speedy post..
Goodluck,jolphil
