Question

On the kernel opening screen (i think that's what it is, has mandrake logo plus a lot of text and opens right before install), is there anyway to stop it from going to the next screen so that I can read what it says?

Type in dmesg in a terminal and that will out put what it says. Actually I think this gives you a lot more info, but what you are looking for may be in there.
