QT3,use from CD or complie myself?
Hi!
I want to use slick bar from superkaramba and I seem to running some problem with QT3 for installing pykde and pyqt stuff. When did a little search in the net ,I found out that the qt3 that came with mdk9.1 is a little bit crappy and I remember why did I reinstall my mdk9.1 in last month .After I complie qt3 from it's site ,I had update it from mandrake software update(again qt)and my x-window wouldn't load so ,I had to reinstall everything again because I need a working computer for my school real quick and I don't know how to fix thing in linux.Anyway ,now that I came back to this qt thing ,I want to make sure that I know something about it before I do something stupid again .I had update some patch for qt from same mandrakesoft update last weeks. And I had read over the net that qt is best for mdk9.1 when you complie yourself .So I want to know how other people do it ,like installing pykde ,pyqt and slick bar using qt that came with your cd or doing it by compling qt by yourself? And one last thing, when you complie some program in mdk ,how do I fix this 'nothing can be done for 'install-exec-am' or 'all' '?The software complie smoothly but when I try to make ,it wouldn't make but keep giving me this error.I ./configure as user and make as root but that does't seem to work.Like I am using superkaramba from 'home/~/superkaramba/src/superkaramba' because it wouldn't instll(make).I could write a shell script in /usr/bin to link the superkaramba to it's folder but I don't want do that anymore .Can anybody tell me how to fix this autmake 'nothing can be doen for ~ ' thing?
thanks!
