I am trying to install PyKDE. When trying to install the Mandrake SRPM, i get
Code:
warning: user sbe does not exist - using root
warning: group sbe does not exist - using root
warning: user sbe does not exist - using root
warning: group sbe does not exist - using root
When trying to compile from source, i get
Code:
Generating the C++ source for the kdecore module...
sip: sip/kdecore/kshortcutlist.sip:85: There is already an enum in scope with the same Python name
Error: Unable to create the C++ code.
Well, the rpm message is just a warning, so you've already got it installed. (Whoever made the RPM forgot to set the owner to "root," but -- unless you're "sbe" -- "root" is probably what you want.)
You should probably check that everyone has "execute" access, but (I believe) that's the default.
I dont think the rpm was installed(rpm -e throws up packaged not installed).
Before this i had 10.1. I installed PyKDE for 3.2 and then upgraded KDE to 3.4, at that time i didnt experience any problem(should I have???).
Thanks anyway.
There are probably no packages because, as I noted before, the PyKDE developers have not yet released any version of PyKDE that will run with KDE 3.4.
Go to the Riverbank home page for more info, but note that nothing after 3.3 is yet supported,
By the way, that's why you compilation failed: the old source code calls functions that are not in (or not invoked in the same way as) the 3.4 release of KDE.
