Proper Solution for Multi-Homed IP

Have set up a [brand new] L-M9.1 build to act as a web site development server at home. In the install, I included BIND, and have configured my machine to support multiple domains [ie one for each web site I support]. This all works perfectly... so I have multiple IP Addresses of different networks, and can browse to them via DNS.

However, each time I reboot my server I lose all the ifconfig settings. I developed a clumsy workaround, which is to write a script called /etc/init.d/netpatch, which contains all necessary ifconfig and route commands, then invoke this after, for example, /etc/rc5.d/S10network as /etc/rc5.d/S15netpatch [usual softlink format]. Thing is, although this solution is quite portable, it does seem clumsy. There must be a network config tool that lets me write this kind of thing into a *proper* configuration file somewhere. Any ideas?

Thanks!
