I didn't notice much there for usenet which you did question. For reading and downloading on newsgroup I use Pan for binary groups (similar to Agent but better options), and Thunderbird for posting to usenet (posts attatchments aswell).

Haha! You should because Linux has a different way of installing and running programs. It's like Windows, but it's not like Windows.
Try to be more specific in your questions and we'll walk you through it step-by-step!
Also, an easy way to install is to use urpmi. For instance to install kopete type in
urpmi kopete
in a console screen (as root)
to become root in console type in su , then your password press enter.
If you need to set up urpmi follow this link http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/
I run programs by pressing Alt-F2 and typing in the name of the program.
So to open kopete I do Alt-F2 kopete
whyask, what does you screen currently look like? If you're in a desktop environment like KDE or Gnome then there should be obvious apps in the menus. Plus things like Kopete are on the cds, and you can use the Mandrake Control Center or urpmi to install them without hassle of downloading, compiling, or dealing with dependancies.
thanx ya i found kde to be the best for me to start just learning it sorta like windows but already i cant open a rar file but i still like it better than windows look more flexible so i may need some instruction i will kepp you all posted thanx again for all your suppot
