Problems with screen after installation

Hi.

Someone replied to my problem of bad screen with Mandrake 10 and set I should look at my monitor and screen card configuration, I did.

When installing Linux it detects my plug&play monitor and uses its own Intel 865 graphics driver, where as I have the on board Intel 865G chip set.

After installation it boots up I can hear the music but the screen is - blur is the best way I can describer it.

Please help, I am relatively new to Linux.

press ctrl-alt-f2 (or other funciton key) to get a text login, then type in 'xf86config'

it might be a bit intimidating but just follow instructions you'll be fine. then you do ctrl-alt-f7 (or f8, i forget) to go back to the graphical login.

Hi

Im having a problem with changing my screen resolution up
in windows I can at 1280x1024
but in Mandrake 10 I can only run at 1024x768 it becomes
distorted when I try to run at 1280x1024....

Any ideas on fixing this ....please help I need a higher res
