Problems with Intel Web Cam
I have an Intel Web Cam but I can't find any program to make it work. Anybody know how to set it up? It's just a cheap, garden variety USB cam from Intel.
It works great in windows. It is listed in MCC but there seems to be no option to install it. There's also no install for a Web Cam in the MCC hardware either. I can't find the web cam in /dev either. Thanks for any help. This has been driving me bats! :newbie: |
What is the Model? Not all Intel web cams are supported out-of-box. The one I have is detected by 9.2 but dosn't have the drivers for it.

He probably has the same model i do: the Intel CS330 USB WebCam (listed in HardDrake as ViewQuest Technologies).
i would like to get mine working as well: IBM Thinkpad A20m (2628-3SU) (with port replicator) running Mandrake Linux 9.2 |
I had mine working under 9.1 but I had to dl the driver sources and compile it. But it wont compile for the latest 9.2 kernel.

Wonderful!
...any idea who's the author/how to contact him/her? |

I'm a gentoo user here, so recompiling my kernel is cake, however still the spca50xx app will not compile on my boxes (all gentoo and available in portage). This camera is listed as fully supported but still I must be missing something in my kernel for it not to compile. Are there some things I should be looking for in my kernel to assist in it's compile? The errors are pretty generic right now.
