Problems installing Mandriva 10.1
I downloaded the ISOs and burned tehm to CDs. When I insert them, I do not get the option to press enter or F1 (As I have read other people do). Instead, it takes me to a DOS prompt.
Any help? My system: Pentium 4 1.7GHz Nvidia GeForce 2 MX 64 MB 786 MB RAM IDE 40 GB Maxtor HDD _NEC NR-7900a CD-R/RW |
OK, I don't think Mandrake has a DOS prompt. Are you sure you have actually booted from CD and not from hard disk ?
If you are sure, tell us what kind of prompt exactly is present ? If the prompt text is "boot", can't you just press Enter ? |
It is DCONFIG.SYS and it ask me what country I live in. After that, it loads Caldera DOS 7. whatever. It then asks if I want to load NRESTORE. It doesn't matter what I choose, though. If I load it, it searches, fails to find it, and dumps me at [DR-DOS] A:\>. If I choose not to load it, it skips the failed search.

Nevermind. I got it. It turns out I was burning the CDs incorrectly.
