Unhappy Problem with network interface card Marvell Yukon

Hi all! This is my first post here.

I'm a noob in Linux and english too.

Here is my problem:
I have a portable Asus A6VC with an integrated network card Marvell Yukon. I install Windows XP firstly there then I wanted to test "Mandriva 2006 free" by installing it in multiboot. After the installation of Mandriva (with success), I switched on Windows (with Lilo) and I noticed that my network card indicated "disconnected cable". I returned on Mandriva and the card was ok. It always put the same message on Windows.
Surprising fact I removed the Linux partition under Windows and it freed my card almost instantaneously. I reinstalled Mandriva and at the time of the restart (after installation), before the last config, I am turned over on Windows. The card functioned. I started again to return on Mandriva and to finish the last configuration. Then I am again turned over on Windows and there the card didn't function again more.

Thanks for your answers and sorry for my bad english

So far as I know, there is no way that installing linux can cause this problem. Especially so if it works after installation on occasion.

The obvious thing to do is to check your network cable. Try several cables, try wiggling them around, and then see if it works.

If not, I am baffled!

The problem doesn't come from the cable. When I delete the logical drive of Mandriva with Windows the card functions immediately after the delete oppartion. I don't need a restart.

Ok, that is very odd. Don't want to sound anti-windows, but that seems to be the problem. Very interesting indeed. You could always try to install linux on a different drive, see if that helps.
