problem with Mandriva 2006

installed Mandriva 2006 on my laptop(fujitsu siemens amilo m7405)

its ok!!

but when i'm trying to boot it i have such a message :

"critilcal temperature is reached, 105 " and the system turning off the computer........

does anybody know how to solve this???

hmm... sounds like ACPI is kicking in your temperature sensors, could be false data, but does your computer feel hot before you get this error?

I would try and go into your BIOS and check the levels of your CPU temperature limits. if they are set too low, then it's possible that your laptop shut itself off.

ok.. it doesn't feel hot, it feels usual, i run win xp & slackware and its ok!!

is it possible to turn off this temperature control or somthing?????

Edit /etc/lilo.conf and add these to the append section of the "linux" choice: "noacpi, nolapic"

then run lilo, by executing the lilo command and if any errors occur post them here, if not, reboot and see if it still happens.

It works? Then you're lucky, or I just learnt something new :)

As far as I know, "acpi" and "[l]apic" are known, but not "apci" ;)
