Problem with grahpic acceleration

I have trouble getting my graphic card to work properly when playing games..
The fps looks like its 8 frames a second... Anyone know what to do?

When I run glxgears it's between 97 and 100 fps.

X Window System Version 6.8.2

It would probably be helpful if you knew what card I have..
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro

Sounds like you need to get some 3D drivers for your graphics card.
You can get them from the ATi site.
Be sure to read the install guide over there too - I've heard that ATi drivers are a bit of a nightmare to install and configure.

Good luck.
