Problem installing Mandrake 9.2

I keep trying to install Mandrake 9.2 on my laptop, but it won't get to the install. It detects my wireless PCMIA card, then tries to read from the cd again, but exits with an I/O error saying it can't read the disc. Just to check, I tried booting the 10.1 installation cd and it worked fine. Is there some way to get to the installation from a floppy disc or something?

If not, how well would Mandrake 10.1 do on a 233 MHz PII laptop with 64 MB of memory?

As long as you run in console mode or some lightweight WM (black/fluxbox or IceWM-light) 10.1 will work.
Don't expect to run OpenOffice or Mozilla though.
