problem installing 9.2 via local FTP server

I am using the 9.2 ISO's and I have extracted them onto my local FTP server. Then I made a boot/install floppy using the extracted network.img
I boot up into the installer and everything seems fine
Detects the nic
DHCP
connect to the ftp server
Loads installer into memory
Setup language(english)
Accept license
Setup mouse
Configure IDE
Set security level (Standard)
Erase entire disk
Formats hda1
Formats hda6
Then it pops up this error message
An error occured
missing basesystem package.

and only and OK button at the bottom

If I click ok it starts the install over again

Now I have searched about this and it seems that this is common to happen to some faulty burned CD installs, or non mounted HD's and it not being able to find the RPMs folder.
Since this is FTP I am unsure The RPMs fodler is acessible to the FTP use and is in the spot where it extracted to. Coudl someone shed some light on what the problem might be? maybe the directory structure on the CD's is different from what is needed by the FTP install?
