Problem downloading hotmail attachments on FireFox 1.0

Well, I just upgraded my computer to MandrakeLinux
But... whenever I try to download a hotmail attachment, I get a blank page. I came back to the same message and this time it says there is some virus in it or something... And I'm certain it's not because it's a .txt file and is from someone I know. Can anyone help me out?

Thought I would just ask a question that others reading this post will probably wonder.......

does this happen while you are in the Windoze or Linux operating system? If Linux what anti virus software do you use?

Note: If this is an occurance from Windoze, it could very well be a virus. For example, if your Windoze friend is infected with the vbs.stages worm, you can get an email from him that shows a txt extension, and has a hidden shs extension after that.

Well, first of all, this is from Linux (Mandrake 10.1 to be precise). I don't have antivirus software on my computer, Hotmail has online email virus scanning, and that detected a virus. What's strange is that it loads fine on my windows box (also running FireFox) without any problems.
