Problem configuring Internet
 

hi,

One of my friend lately installed Mandrake 10.1
on this box.

his hardware config:

P3 500 MHz, 256 Mb RAM a realtek ethernet card.

We have an internet connection on ADSL with 128 Kbps.

We are able to configure the internet connection, at Configuring your Hardware, by adding new connection.

But the problem we are facing is that each time we reboot we have reconfigure it.

Please can some one out there guide me, is there something i am missing.

Hi, I assume that you are using an adsl router as you have a netcard, so what you want to do is to add the router ip to your linux system as gateway.

An easy way is to use netconf, routing and gateways, set defaults,
default gateway www.xxx.yyy.zzz = your router ip
x to enable routing
so that the system will retain it.
